Grand Mamluk Revival in Gold & Azul – Hand-Knotted Wool | 9x12
This hand-knotted Mamluk revival carpet draws from the geometric court designs of the 15th–16th century Mamluk period, reinterpreted through Afghan craftsmanship.
Woven at an approximate 40×40 density, the surface carries a finely articulated network of medallions, rosettes, and interlocking polygonal motifs. The field is rendered in layered saffron, turquoise, azul, and crimson tones, framed by a wide border in deep blue and gold.
Unlike tribal compositions that rely on repetition, this format creates a continuous architectural field, each motif contained within a precise geometric grid. The result is structured, deliberate, and visually commanding.
At over 100 square feet, this piece is designed for formal living rooms, dining spaces, or large open-plan interiors where scale and presence matter.
New production in traditional technique, offering historic pattern language with contemporary durability. All dimensions approximate.
