About Us
Majlis House curates rugs and objects rooted in the traditions of shared space, craftsmanship, and gathering. Our focus is on Middle Eastern, Central Asian, and North African textiles - pieces chosen for their character, material honesty, and cultural continuity.
Whether vintage or made to order, each rug in our collection is selected to stand on its own while contributing to a coherent whole.
Our Story
The majlis is traditionally a sitting room, but more broadly it refers to a place of gathering—where people come together to sit, speak, and share time. Majlis House was founded around this idea: that objects shape how we gather, and that well-made pieces carry meaning beyond decoration.
Our collection reflects this philosophy through rugs, seating elements, and select objects designed to support lived spaces rather than trend-driven interiors.
Our Approach
We work with established rug warehouses, makers, and suppliers across the Middle East, Central Asia, and North Africa to source one-of-a-kind vintage rugs and carefully produced contemporary pieces. Each rug is individually selected and inspected prior to shipment.
Because these pieces are unique and often shaped by time, variation and imperfection are part of their character. A reminder of the human touch.
Quality & Authenticity
We prioritize natural materials, traditional techniques, and cultural legibility. Our focus is on handmade and hand-finished rugs where craftsmanship and use are visible, rather than concealed.
Authenticity, to us, means respecting origin, material, and process while presenting each piece thoughtfully for contemporary spaces.
