Afghan Chobi in Natural – Hand-Knotted Wool | 5x6
This hand-knotted Afghan rug presents a figural “tree of life” composition, populated by birds, flowering branches, and scattered animal forms — a narrative interpretation of classical garden and hunting motifs.
The neutral, straw-toned ground allows saturated accents — teal, indigo, rust, and soft coral — to articulate the central tree and surrounding fauna. Rather than strict symmetry, the layout unfolds organically, giving the field movement and visual depth.
Woven in wool by Afghan artisans, this piece balances durability with a slightly textured surface. At a 35x40 knot density, it sits within a mid-density structure suitable for regular use.
This is new production executed in traditional hand-knotting technique, offering a more expressive, illustrative approach within a traditional sized format.
